"The Raven" is a narrative poem by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in January 1845. It is often noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talkingraven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow descent into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student,[1][2] is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust ofPallas, the raven seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". The poem makes use of a number of folk and classical references.

rap

Rapping (also known as emceeing,[1] MCing,[1] spitting (bars),[2] or just rhyming[3]) refers to "spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics".[4] The art form can be broken down into different components, as in the book How to Rap where it is separated into “content”, “flow” (rhythm andrhyme), and “delivery”.[5] Rapping is distinct from spoken word poetry in that it is performed in time to a beat.[6][7]

Rapping is a primary ingredient in hip hop music & reggae, but the phenomenon predates hip hop culture by centuries. Rapping can be delivered over a beat or without accompaniment. Stylistically, rap occupies a gray area among speech, prose, poetry, and song. The use of the word to describe quick speech or repartee long predates the musical form,[8] meaning originally "to hit".[9] The word had been used in British Englishsince the 16th century, and specifically meaning "to say" since the 18th. It was part of the African American dialect of English in the 1960s meaning "to converse", and very soon after that in its present usage as a term denoting the musical style.[10] Today, the terms "rap" and "rapping" are so closely associated with hip hop music that many use the terms interchangeably.

For me, I havn't seem a movie which is so touchy. And i never know that the ralationship od a teacher and a students could be so special. Willian Forrester in the film seen as a strange writer who close himself in a quiet dark room amd donot have the desire to interact with other worldwide. I thinks that his talent has help him to be one of the best author, nut made him unlocked in his world. Although I don't have the talent to be a really talented syudent, the gift didn't belong to me.

then I would like to talk about Jamel. Jamel is a black men as we know the ones that are easily ignored in American society. I thought this is the reason to make him be the successful writer in the film. The allenation and the loneness od the loss of his father give rise to writing. Writing is a way for hime to slow down his emotion and to think over his life and misfortune. Of his age, it is the time to have the identification of his fellows. However, friends of his are not those have the gift to writing. Thsi force him to hide his passion about reading and writing.

Coleridge

Ancient Mariner: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner(originally The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere) is the longest major poemby the English poetSamuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797–98 and was published in 1798 in the first edition of Lyrical Ballads. Modern editions use a later revised version printed in 1817 that featured a gloss. Along with other poems inLyrical Ballads, it was a signal shift to modern poetry and the beginning of British Romantic literature.

Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink.
